Born in Baghdad, Iraq 1962, Ulwan studied and graduated from the Folk Heritage Institute 1980-1984. He obtained his B.F.A. from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Baghdad in 1999. Ulwan participated in various exhibitions in Iraq and abroad.
